ABOUT DONNA
Donna Dufault has over 20+ years of experience working in the photography industry. She has a BFA degree in Fine Art Photography from Rochester Institute of Technology. She has worked at some of the best photographic printing labs in the country and worked with some of the top art photographers in the world. This experience coupled with years of gallery experience, running art marketing groups, curating shows, and co-coordinating photo workshops has given her a unique perspective into the fine art photography world.
The last 15+ years she has been working as a photographer side by side with her husband, Scott Erb, in their commercial advertising photography business, Erb/Dufault Photography – www.erbphoto.com. Where they specialized in Food and Hospitality Photography.
Both were founding partners in the endeavor, Foodies of New England Magazine, which they started in Oct 2012 with a small group of friends. (now defunct) The magazine was in over 2500+ locations for sale all over New England. They loved being the photographers for Foodies of New England Magazine and they have had many, many culinary adventures. With their speciality being in Food and Hospitality Photography, they continue to travel and photograph amazing foods, chefs, and locations all over the country.
Much of Donna’s work is derived from these adventures and is significantly influenced by the amazing chefs, unique items seen along the way, and places she has visited over the years.
Special Announcement 2023:
After an incredible two decades + of building relationships with amazing local clients, Scott and Donna have decided it’s time to travel the country. So, They recently sold their home and studio and have been embarking on an adventure that could last a year or more!

If you know anyone who needs a traveling brand ambassador or looking for headshots or portraits, or maybe you know someone in another city that could be a great connection for them, they kindly ask that you please keep them in mind and introduce them! They appreciate any recommendations.
And please keep your eyes on all their social media channels—always looking to make connections, collaborate and meet new people while out there exploring new places together!

Stillness Held came out of me trying to calm myself down. See.. I don’t always do “grace” very well when life feels heavy, but give me a camera and I’ll stand there for an hour obsessing over a red daisy and some textured seed pods like that’s normal behavior. and these darn snail shells- in this one make me feel a little abandoned (which is probably ridiculous, but here we are), and the red daisy felt like the one bright thing that refused to quit. Bright, bold...love it.
So...What’s your go-to “reset” when you’re feeling off? Anyone pick up a camera, go for a walk, or drink tea??

Hello sweet print, Delicate Damage. It’s all kinds of flowers on a silver platter with a ridiculous amount of sand dollars- whole ones, cracked ones, and some that are basically hanging on by a thread.
I love the broken ones the most, which probably says something about me. LOL...
I’ve been feeling a little cracked lately too. Perimenopause brain, stress, life… you know the deal people!
Anyway... What I like about this piece is that nothing needs to be “fixed.” The fragile, broken pieces somehow shine in the frame. They matter. I think they actually make the whole thing feel more like real life. I couldn`t walk over them on the beach. I wanted them in front of my camera.
Because that’s the kind of beauty I’m interested in... the kind that has been through something. Do you collect broken bits on your beach walks?

When I’m hiking, I’m always looking for interesting things that I can find along the trail whether that be rocks or interesting bits of wood hopefully, I find pieces of metal or rusty bits that I can use in my still life. But sometimes 30 days like this where I don’t find much at all. Check out what I did find. #pickupyourtrashpeople #keeptrailsclean #hikingisfun #bts #lookingandnoticing

Went for a hike this am looking for “Things People Leave Behind” so I can create some of my still life images. Thought I share the view… #beautifudsy #hikingaz #workinprogress
blue and purple when the light hit it just right... it was was so scratched, dented, that patina I love. Yep, I was immediately into it. Had to have it...a thrill literly went through me when I turned in over in my hands.
Yep...What got me was the color. People ask me if the blue and purple tones are real, and yes, they are. That color lives on the surface of silver. It shows up slowly over time. And it show up easily under the light tent I build to show it off…
That’s the part I love sooo much..
A lot of people see tarnish and think the object is ruined or needs to be cleaned up. I see something else. I see time doing its work. I see color that wasn’t there before. I see a surface that got way more interesting.
For this piece, I paired the platter with 3 abandoned garden snail shells and worked the light until that blue and purple really showed itself. I wasn’t trying to “fix” the platter. I wanted to show what was already there- like those old fingerprints!!
That’s a big part of this series for me as I worked to pay attention to what changes, what stays, and what gets overlooked because it doesn’t look new anymore.
Quick question — do you have something at home that’s tarnished but that you still love?

Fundamental Nature.
The centerpiece is a silver platter that someone had thrown away. It was scratched, dulled, and forgotten. I covered the platter with mossy branches and deep pink blooms, a mix of life and color... When I look at this photograph, I see that proof I’m always looking for, that beauty doesn’t fade, it can simply change shape or be reinvented.
My hope is that you see it too.

I made this photograph from a silver platter someone threw away.
That’s not me being dramatic. It was literally discarded, scratched, dull, and forgotten. Of course I picked it up.
And of course I loved it.
Needed to photograph it. LOL
So - I used mossy branches and deep pink flowers in this piece because I wanted the image to hold both things at once: age and life, wear and beauty, softness and strength.
That’s what I seem to care about most in this work.
I’m not interested in making everything look perfect. I’m much more interested in what happens when something has been used, weathered, and still has presence.
I wonder if a lot of people feel that, even if they don’t always have words for it.
Some of us want our homes to feel personal and lived in, not polished to death Pristine. Lived in.
I’m so curious - tell me- what’s one old object in your home that you’d never throw away?
