My dad had a screwdriver for just about everything. His garage was packed with them, and I loved the variety of handles, the worn tips, and the evidence of years of work.
I arranged these screwdrivers in a loose pile on one of his wooden workbenches, letting their different shapes and sizes overlap and cross one another. Some handles are smooth from use, others are chipped and worn. They are exactly the kind of tools I remember seeing in his hands, and spending time with them in my studio brought a little of that familiarity back.
